Wally! What beautiful, athletic jumps! Have you been drinking protein shakes?! "I'm a BUNNY! I slurp HAY not WHEY! My bunny fitness plan includes at least four balloon-bellies of hay per day." (Wally's tummy gets round and plump after he eats – we call it his balloon-belly.) In preparation of an announcement, Wally hops to the edge of the bed and clears his throat: "I'd like to thank my 9 lb. bag of orchard grass hay. Because of you, bunnies across the globe can joyfully jump on beds with strength and finesse!" ☺️ @oxbowanimalhealth (Wally has unlimited access to hay, which is a critical component of good rabbit health. Although our entire home is often sprinkled with hay, I don't mind because Wally and I call it "bunny confetti" – so it's always a party!)
"SNIPPIES! I got SNIPPIES!" (Snippies is what Wally calls his haircuts. See below for more information.) Wally is always rewarded with a delicious treat after snippies, and today he asked for his Harvest Stacks, which he calls "my OXBOW PIES!" He rushed me through snippies by convincing me that his treat was "waiting." "HURRY!" he repeatedly shouted. "My OXBOW PIE is WAITING for me!" ☺️ @oxbowanimalhealth. (The grooming process was very stressful for Wally when he first came home with me. When long, Angora wool can mat and become uncomfortable and painful if not properly groomed. Wally was so anxious during this process that it became difficult for me to maintain his long wool. This is why I initially chose to trim his coat – and Wally felt it was quite becoming. ? While some Angoras are more tolerant of brushing – and long coats are beautiful! – Wally does better with trimmed wool.)
